Have you ever been so busy planning the future that you forget to seek God’s guidance? Or worse, forget that He has you in a place where he wants to use you for His purpose. Honestly, I have been there for the past several months. I have even created a countdown for my retirement. Now don’t get me wrong looking forward to something isn’t bad. It only turns bad when that becomes your sole focus and you forget to seek God’s guidance and direction for where you are now. In my study of Proverbs, it became apparent that my focus has been my problem.
We have a Heavenly Father who loves us and wants only the best for us!! Do we seek Him like He is silver or buried treasure or do we only turn to Him in times of trouble? Do we plan our paths and expect him to meet our needs or do we turn every aspect of our lives over and listen for His voice? Lord forgive me for not honestly seeking you at all times. Shame and guilt can be the enemy’s tools but your Love is unstoppable and unconditional!! Thank you for these truths! Let me see that you have called me to this time and I am where you need me to be for such a time as this! I will seek your wisdom and trust your path!
