Tuning our minds

Have you ever been in your car and flipping through the stations on your radio and getting a fuzzy sound? Then, you have to carefully tune it to the right station so you hear your music. Our minds can get the same way. We can get so caught up in the day or times that our minds get fuzzy, and we can’t hear God clearly. We have to diligently focus our minds on Him. Here are two verses that provide instructions on how to tune our minds.

Romans 12:2. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Philippians 4:8-9 “ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.”

Lord, help us capture our thoughts and tune our minds to obey you. When this world gets loud and overwhelming, help us Be Still and know you are still in control. Let us look to you as the new year approaches, and help us walk with confidence in knowing that you love us and paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we may boldly claim your name to our friends and family. Thank you, Jesus, for loving us. I pray that you help us keep our eyes and minds on you this year and seek your path for our lives. In Jesus’s name, I pray, Amen
