Never
Never is a word that often has a negative cognition.
I will never do that
Never say never
I never said that, And the list could go on and on.
God has again used music to speak directly to my heart. A new song by Tasha Layton has given me a unique perspective on the word Never.
Here are some of the lyrics:
When this broken world is breaking me down
When my tears and knees both fall to the ground
When my questions make me doubt You more than ever
You remind me that Your answer is always never
Never forgotten
Never forsaken
Never abandoned
Not for a second
I am safe in Your hands
Always and forever
You’re not working
My heart is the proof
There’s not a broken too broken for You
Will there ever come a day when You’re not holding me together?
You say never
This word in God’s voice paints such a beautiful picture. He promises over and over in scripture that we don’t have to worry about being alone and abandoned.
Deuteronomy 31:8 “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
When we hear frightening words at a doctor’s office or hear news that stops us in our tracks, God is with us. He is there holding us. He will never leave our side. So tonight, if you are struggling and feeling lonely, scared, or lost, remember you have a Heavenly Father who wants to walk you through the valley you face. Just as Moses had to go through the Red Sea and Daniel had to go in the Lion’s Den, we may have to face the obstacle in our path, yet we will NEVER have to face it alone.
